When it comes to children and the foods that they eat, you have to help them chose their foods better. Children that eat healthy grow healthy. It might be easy just to hand them sugary treats or salty treats it is just as easy to hand them a piece of fruit or some cut up vegies.Your children see the commercials advertising all the different type of sugary foods. It is our jobs to help our children live a healthy life.Children that eat a lot of salty or sugary treats tend to weigh more have less energy to do anything and tend to get sick easier. Grab any box of food around you and see how many chemicals are in the food, how much sugar and how much sodium. Read the packages before you purchase them.
Ever have to deal with a child with constant ear infections , did you know that high fat milk causes mucus build up ? Try rice milk instead or a lower fat milk. Also some believe there is a link between milk and bed wetting.
The best thing to do is to avoid introducing those sugary treats and drinks. There are plenty of snacks out there that are all natural.
Foods to avoid
Asthma :
- Any foods, including dairy products or additives that seem to trigger an attack
- Mushrooms , cheese , soy sauce and yeasty breads if molds trigger attacks
- Salicylates ; an ingredient in aspirin, tea, vinegar, salad dressings, many fruits and vegetables
- Any food preserved with sulfites
- Foods containing tartrazine or yellow dye #5
Acne:
- Fatty foods
- kelp supplements
- Iodized salt
- High doses of B vitamins
Cystic Fibrosis
- Low calorie foods
Mononucleosis:
- Alcohol

- Chicken soup and broths
- Foods high in Omega 3 fatty acids to counter inflammation ( canola oil, salmon, mackerel, sardines and any other cold water fish
- Green tea
Acne:
- Fresh fruits and vegetables for vitamins A and C
- Whole grains and cereals for B vitamins and zinc
- Lean meats , poultry and fish for zinc
Cystic Fibrosis:
- Fish, poultry,eggs,meat and any other high protein foods for growth
- Starchy foods and a moderate amount of sweets for energy
- Fat ( as much as they can tolerate ) for extra calories
- Fluids to prevent constipation
- Salt to replace what is lost in sweat
Mononucleosis:
- Fruits and vegetable juices for vitamins and minerals
- Milk shakes for calories, minerals and vitamin D
- Soups for energy and fiber
- Soft foods to soothe a sore throat
